Credit Card Scam and Fraud

On July 2, 2026, a credit card scam and fraud occurred in the 15000 block of Cedarville Dr. in Chesterfield County. The victim received a phone call from someone impersonating a Truist Bank employee. The scammer advised that fraudulent purchases were made on the victim’s debit card, which she was able to stop. The scammer then advised the victim to cut up the card, package it, and place it outside her residence for pick up. Once the package was picked up, additional transactions and ATM withdrawals were made. The suspect is described as a Black male last seen wearing a blue button up shirt resembling a postal worker.
