On Aug. 21, 2025, an attempted check fraud occurred at the First Bank branch at 200 Johnson Creek Drive in Chesterfield County. A white female suspect entered the bank and produced a fake North Carolina ID showing her photo and the victim’s DMV information, along with a stolen check for $7,200 that she attempted to cash. When the suspect was told the check would need time to clear, she left the bank in an unknown direction and vehicle.
