Check Fraud at the Virginia Credit Union ATM

On May 21, 2025, a check fraud occurred at the Virginia Credit Union (VACU) located at 10306 Iron Bridge Road in Chesterfield County. Multiple checks mailed by a City of Richmond business were stolen out of the U.S. Mail, washed, and then passed to different banking institutions. A Black male suspect is seen on video footage depositing a fraudulent check through the VACU ATM while another check went to American Express with the payee’s name replaced with Jimequa Chiles. Thus far over $4,700 in fraudulent transactions have occurred.
