On Aug. 27, 2023, a white male and female suspect entered the Gold and Gem at 11500 Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield County and selected several jewelry items to purchase. The suspects provided cash and a gift card to the clerk as payment, but the gift card was declined. Both suspects left the store, claiming they were going to get more cash and another card. Unbeknownst to the clerk, the female suspect took one of the bags of jewelry, valued at over $7,500, before leaving the store.
