CRIME OF THE WEEK
CASE 1942
GRAND LARCENY
CONTRIBUTED BY: Police Spec. Ron Coombs
September 20, 2021
On July 28, at 6 p.m., a white male entered the Wawa at 604 Boulevard in Colonial Heights and represented himself as an employee of the store's usual cigarette vendor. He told store employees he was there to pick up a container of cigarettes that was delivered to the store in error. The suspect exchanged his empty container with a container full of cigarettes valued at over $2,200 and left the store. It was later determined the suspect was not an employee of the vendor and he had fraudulently obtained the cigarettes. The suspect is described as a white male wearing dark-rimmed eyeglasses, a tan button-down shirt, dark-colored pants, and white tennis shoes.
